We are staying at The White House today but we have yet to meet up with Donald. Last night we dined at the Man of Ross. I had the hake, Shiel had lasagne. The food was good but the portions were too large for us.
The Man of Ross was John Kyrle (1637 to 1724) a great Ross on Wye benefactor. He lived for may years in a house just above the market square.
Ross has a very fine parish church with an enormous grave yard. In it there is a memorial cross to remember people who died in the great plague.
There are very good views to be had from the graveyard, that is why the location is used as a beacon site.
The last photo is not very good but gives you some idea of what the A449 road bridge looks like. There are lots of good places to eat in Ross.
